This
photograph was taken Summer 2014 during my last trip to L.A. I had a little trouble figuring out the true
meaning of Accidental Art. Initially I
looked back at this photo and nothing would standout in my eyes. I was caught up in comparing my photo to my classmates.
I just felt like my photo did not represent accidental art in any form. Then I asked my siblings for their opinion on
what they found interesting about this photo, just to confirm that my selection
was wrong, but their responses where pretty much the same. “I see a park Pink
Mustang”. That was the very moment I was reminded why I took this photo in the
first place. In that moment I knew there
was something more special about this photo. This is Accidental Art, this
beautiful extravagant ‘Pink Mustang’ I assume it was parked for general use. The visual elements in this photo begin as 3D
art, because I personally took this the photo of this car, but at the time of
this assignment I realize this is more of a 2D art piece. The more I looked at this photo and other
elements begin to stand out; like the horizontal lines that come across the
body of the car, As well as the horizontal lining of the boarder on the sidewalk.
I see geometrical shapes through out the photo for instance the wheels and headlights
on the cars with its circular shapes, and the window shield has a rectangular
feel. The texture I would say smooth metal, Grass flaky and rough, and concrete
a rough coarse. For color it’s a mix of
pink with a hint of purple, which can quickly be consider the focal point of
this photo. The mix color of this car makes me think of youth, extravagance and
over the top personality and it also reminds me of royalty.
There is a lot you can say here Ingrid but I think you are missing (or mixed up) some ideas. The lines in this image are diagonal- not horizontal as you say. I would also review your notes on geometric and organic shapes. One of the strongest visual elements of this image are the colors and yet you fail to mention that these colors here are almost perfect compliments (red/green). Take your time with these blog posts and be sure what you are writing is what you mean.
