BP#1

Every time I know I'll be having a day of scheduled work I make sure to pack my current favorite piece of artwork. My Nike Kyrie 1 shoes, made for #2 of Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyrie Irving. As someone who has owned over one hundred pairs of shoes, it takes something special to get a purchase from me.

A shoe is certainly an ordinary item, however the craftsmanship in these particular shoes made for the human purpose of point guard are definitely extraordinary. As I watched my new favorite athelete score 55 points in a single game, I instantly realized that I'm able to commemorate and and have record of such an astonishing all-star player. Just by wearing his shoes while i'm performing my  obligated duties, I feel a connection toward this endorsed althlete. I appreciate his game.

I hope to continue to enjoy this 2015 season of Kyrie Irving's basketball performances. I know that owning these same upcoming championship sneakers will always be appreciated by any art lover.

These shoes are art simply because it has refreshed my idea of what a shoe purchase requires. I don't look for hyped, limited releases. I buy shoes that unite me with a higher consciousness. Thanks for allowing me this opportunity to express my favorite piece of art that I
use to improve my life!!

  1. I would agree with you that these are an extra-ordinary version of an ordinary object- sort of. If they are mass produced, that could put them into a catgeory of a commercial object. Also, do the shoes fall into any other category of "functions of art"? You discuss how they make you feel- which one of the categories that we discussed might that suggest? ALSO!! 250 word minimum for weekly blog posts. You are almost there. (222)
